Crack! goes the bolt of lightning so near

Its piercing sound blares so close to my ear

Though raindrops do follow much like my tears

I can now think of nothing but my animalistic fear

I love the rain

It dulls my pain

Its melodious sound keeps me sane

A microcosm, if you will

Of a sunny morning and day

Can only be matched by the calming night spray

Too much of a good thing can be dangerous

But as well of too much of a bad

But whos to consider the difference between both

Unless both they have already had

My point is this:

If you look out the door

And are blinded by more

Of the same happy days of old

Your experience is half learned

And by no means earned

Until the story of difference is told

Without the sun

There could be no fun

And what of good weather of course

But just as in life

You must encounter strife

As rain can provide daily remorse

So bless be the rain

And the times we have pain

For vain would be life without these

Chase the sunset and be thankful for its rise

Take two steps back and realize

That the rain is merely there to please

Why?  Why not...
