Life the Way it Is
We do so many things everyday, From work, to school, to growing and dying. We laugh, we smile, we kiss, we hug. We hurt, we yell, we scream, we cry.
Life is not about, who wears what. Or who's man is cuter than who's. It isn't about the color of our skin, Or the friends we choose.
Life is not about the age, It is not about the poems I write, Or another blank page. It is not about this.
Life is about, how we love ourselves, And who we help in time. It is about being honest, And returning the extra dime.
Between all of the hate and hurtful words, In the middle of the high school drama show, There is more to life, Than we'll ever know.
Between all the hurt and abuse, somewhere before the pain. During the thunderstorms, And all of the rain, -We once knew what life was about.
It is not for the money, Or the fashion of the year. It is about who you, LOVE, CHERISH, and hold DEAR.
Life is about the people you affect, And who loves you in return. Life is about your family, And that flame that will always burn.
